Demo Account Agent

Tailored Fountain demo accounts from a one-line request

A demo works best when it looks like your own business: your roles, your locations, your brand. The Demo Account Agent starts from a single request with a company name. It researches the company's public website and careers pages, then prepares a branded Fountain demo account with Cue, filled with generated sample data that fits the business. We use it for tailored demos, hands-on workshop accounts, and practice accounts where people can try Cue without touching a live account.

The problem

Generic demo accounts don't look like a grocery chain, a care provider or a delivery network, so it's hard for hiring leaders to picture Fountain and Cue working on their own jobs. Building a tailored account by hand took hours of setup across several tools and teams, and the data files had to match each other exactly or the import broke.

What we built

  • A Slack-based agent. Someone on our team posts one line with a company name, and the agent reports progress in the same thread.
  • A research step that reads the company's public website and careers pages to work out its industry, the hourly roles it hires for, where it operates, and its logo and brand colors.
  • A prefilled, branded signup that a team member submits to create the demo account with Cue switched on.
  • A companion sample data skill that our team uses with Claude to write matching locations, jobs, hiring workflows, openings, workers and shifts, and to check that every file lines up before anything is imported.
  • A clear handoff: a person checks the account, and the agent tells the requester when it's ready.

How it works

  1. A Fountain team member asks the agent, in one line, for a demo for a company.
  2. The agent researches the company's public frontline footprint.
  3. It prepares a branded signup, and a team member submits it to create the account.
  4. The account is filled with generated sample data that fits the company.
  5. A person checks the account, and the agent says it's ready.

Where it landed

  • Went from a written design to a working first version in about a week, in spring 2026.
  • Since May 2026, Fountain's sales team has requested tailored demo accounts through it.
  • Set up hands-on accounts for an executive workshop, each one built around an attendee's own company.

What we learned

  • Research beats questions. Once the agent did the company research itself, a one-line request was enough.
  • Let AI do the judgment and keep the exact parts exact. Setup details follow fixed templates and checks.
  • Realism means frontline. A demo feels real when it shows the hourly roles and sites a company actually staffs.
  • Keep a person at the finish line. In the first version, a person checked each account and the login invite went out last, so nobody logged in to a half-built account.
  • Prototype in Labs, then hand off. Steps that prove their value move into Fountain's own systems.
